The Royal Gramma (Gramma loreto) is one of the most popular and recognizable saltwater fish in the hobby. With its striking purple front half that fades into a brilliant yellow tail, this peaceful Caribbean basslet brings incredible color and personality to reef and fish-only aquariums.

Known for its hardy nature and ease of care, the Royal Gramma is an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists. These fish spend much of their day swimming through rockwork, hovering upside down beneath ledges, and retreating into caves, making them fascinating to watch.

Royal Grammas are reef safe and coexist well with a wide variety of peaceful community fish. They thrive in aquariums with plenty of live rock where they can establish a territory while still remaining active throughout the day.

Whether you're building your first reef aquarium or adding another splash of color to an established system, the Royal Gramma is a timeless favorite that offers beauty, personality, and durability.
